OMVE Netherlands is carrying out a "continuous innovation program" throughout the entire company. Every person within the company is motivated to express ideas and to implement improvements on existing products, services or to use and combine (new) process technologies that open new possibilities for small-scale processing.
This program has not only led to a number of awards and nominations within the industry, but also resulted in an advanced range of equipment unique in the market.
In 1996 OMVE was awarded the Innovation Trophy for the Carbo-Fill. This unit is now the standard for R&D or QA departments in most food companies worldwide.
In 2000 OMVE was nominated for the Mechatronica Technology Price when introducing the Continuous Flow MicroWave Heater. The unique advantages of this system have yet to be discovered by the industry. The last 5 years OMVE has put a lot of effort into making Aseptic Filling possible on a small scale. With the development of the Asepto-Fill OMVE can offer a complete Aseptic Line on a laboratory scale.
The next step was local sterilisation of the containers without using any chemical or steam (heat). Cold Plasma was the magic word. OMVE developed a machine that proved that Cold Plasma could sterilise containers. It is widely understood what revolution could be brought about if this technology were to become available on an industrial scale. For this effort OMVE was nominated in 2004 for the Metaalunie Innovation Award and in 2005 for the Food Valley Award '05. To develop new equipment and technologies you need partners. Therefore OMVE is working closely with various research institutes and end users in the food industry. The trend at the moment is studies regarding "Hybrid Technologies".
